Flexifoil Flexifoil are jumping all over the student bandwagon and have just launched The Kite Project, aimed at getting teenagers involved in powerkiting as part of their extra curricular school activities. It's going well so far, for more information and dates head to their website. | | Mystic Our favourite apparel provider just stepped it up a notch with the new Code harness, with Boa Technology. Fully adjustable back support means you can ride as hard or as laid back as you like. Fight or Flight We know you're going already, because it's the biggest student festival in the UK and it just so happens to be right next to kitesurfing paradise, BUT just in case you've got any crazy thoughts of doing something else, SKA Pres Alex Parker thought he'd have a quiet word; "The SKA have teamed up with Beach Break Live this year to put on a mahoosive freestyle competition for y’all: Fight or Flight. BBL 2011 will see the first ever student extreme games hit the festival, with comps being organised for wakeboarding and snowsports as well as kitesurfing. If you think that you’ve got what it takes to represent your uni at BBL, and throw down like a BOSS, then sort out a team with your uni kite club and sign up at the link below! If you’re a lone rider, then don’t worry, sign up anyway! In usual SKA fashion, there’ll be plenty of stash up for grabs from our amazing sponsors, Flexifoil and Mystic. BBL 2011 is set to be the biggest yet, with 20,000 students poised to flock to Pembrey country park on the 16th of June. Tinie Tempah and Katy B are just a couple of the huge acts signed to play. For more info, just hit up the BBL website at www.beachbreaklive.com If you’re keen to come along and compete (which you really really should be) then click your way to http://www.jotform.com/form/10683057220 On a separate note; the freestyle nationals are coming! We're organising details but we'll be able to set a date very very soon! Watch this space.... SKA lovin' Parker xxxx" So there it is folks, word from the top is this will be almost as sick as the Wave Jam (did I tell you I got barrelled?) so let's do it properly. Oh and if someone could PLEASE wipe that smile off Southamptons face that would be great. I live there and even I'm fed up with how full of ourselves we are. Cardiff University pop across the channel http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_198692270155914 Cardiff University kitesurfers have stepped up and organised the event that every kitesurfer I've ever met has said would be a sweet, if only they had the time, or the safety boat, or the blah blah blah. These guys have got it together and will be popping across from Penarth, Cardiff, to Weston Super-Mare in April. If you fancy following their progress or chipping in a few quid for a good cause you can find them on facebook. | |
