SUP for a PUP This Weekend in Newport Beach — Supported by Naish

Hello Friends & Family,

Because of the downturn in the economy there have been so many dogs that have been abandoned or dropped off at the kill shelters. It has been a very sad state for these dogs with little to no options. But there is hope... Three years ago, we had our 1st annual fundraiser — we raised $7,300 dollars for A Wish for Animals and more importantly we found 20 new homes for the rescued dogs.

This year we are holding our SUP for a PUP event and hoping to double our efforts. At this event you can get great deals on samples, adopt a dog, and get great food, all at the same time. We will have an assortment of products (stand up paddle boards, sunglasses, surf apparel & more) from brands including: Kaenon, Naish, Olukai, Hinano, Quickblade and many others. A portion of each sale goes to the non-profit, A Wish for Animals, a charity that rescues dogs in need, from the streets to high kill shelters. A Wish for Animals provides temporary housing, medical needs and lots of love until they find their forever home.

Please help if you can, even if it is coming to the event to take one of the 25 dogs for a walk during the event. Also you can donate directly to: http://www.supforapup.com

Thanks for your time!

A note about Lisa and I:

Lisa, my wife, has always wanted to help animals and I have been along for the crazy ride. Between the two of us, donating time at the Pig Rescue in Washington, to the Wildlife Bird Sanctuary in Orange County, to the last several years of fostering an endless stream of dogs in need with A Wish for Animals here in Southern California. We are also contributing members of Sea Shepherd, Greenpeace, and The Surfrider Foundation, which makes it exciting to combine the two pastime I love, surfing and and helping animals in need. It has not always been easy, some dogs were so emaciated that all we could do is give them a good home and love until they passed away. Others have found great homes that we still get to visit and see. It always is fun in the end. Here are some photos of our fosters that we have had over the years. Thanks for reading this.
