The Guardian has told us that the days of student partying are over, and while that's definitely not true, we thought you'd rather have 5 shots and smell a bit, than look rad in a wave jam tee but not be able to afford to party like a rock star on saturday night! Guests - £20, Riders - £45 With thanks to Flexifoil, Mystic, Expix and Blast Kiteboarding It's finally here - the end of winter, and the SKA's classic surf style wave jam! We've got a rare treat in store for you all, with 2 days of jam format competition, and professional clinics led by none other than BKSA wave master Marc Rowley and his team of experts at Blast Kiteboarding, ably assisted by Flexifoil young gun Josh Coombes. As usual, we will have prizes on offer for those individuals that you, the riders, vote for at the end of the weekend. For the up and coming waveriders amongst you we'll have an array of top notch wave riding gear on offer for demo purposes; 15 boards from Blast Kiteboarding, 15 kites from Flexifoil and 10 harnesses from Mystic. Expix will be there to document your glorious performances on and off the water. For the more traditional students amongst you, we'll also be hosting our own party at L&A Bunkhouses - if you were at the beginners event you'll know what to expect, and if you weren't...you'll just have to wait and see. Location Rest Bay, Porthcawl Free parking with a quiet beach with excellent wave and wind exposure (last year was 15ft and 35 knots) Riding: Riders should be able to go upwind Equipment will be on hand for demo, boards, kites and harnesses. Equipment will be signed out for a given length of time dependent on demand. Going strapless is encouraged! Accommodation: L&A Bunkhouses - quality accommodation and on site bar 30 to a bunkhouse Bring a sleeping bag or sheets Party: Exclusive on site bar - £2 a drink all night.
