Go High, or go Ho!me: The Hype In association with Flexifoil, Expix, and BeachBreakLive. Special thanks to Kitemare, Torridge Council, and Saunton Sands Surf Lifesaving Club Prizes donated by BeachBreakLive, Kitemare, TeamPlayers, Bracklesham Boardriders, Blast Kiteboarding and Maverick Slacklines. Ohboyohboyohboy. It's here. Finally. Those two beautiful days, just before the water gets too cold to get in, where I get to show off JUST HOW RAD I AM to loads of freshers. I. Am. Excited. And if you want to come and compete that's cool but you've got a SLIM CHANCE of winning anything because I'm the best. Ho (westward) ho! Seriously though: Go High or Go Ho!me: The Details In 2010 we were blown away by the standard of riders at the Calshot Student Nationals. If anything, this academic year looks to see an even higher standard of riders studying at UK universities. If you think you’ve got the skills to throw down alongside the likes of Ali Barrett and Holly Kennedy, some of the best riders on the BKSA at the moment, then this is the event for you. In appreciation of what it is still the most popular form of kitesurfing, we’ll be hosting a formal freestyle jam at Westward Ho! this year with 4 distinct classes; Mens Pro, Mens Advanced, Mens Intermediate, and Ladies. We’ve devised a format to ensure we can run a fair and exciting professionally judged competition in just 6 hours, meaning that we can choose to run the event on whichever of the two days looks best. Accommodation is for Friday and Saturday night, so whichever day we aren't competing on will be your own. We know a lot of you have beginners in your clubs who aren't quite going upwind yet. If you have an instructor in your club you will be able to supervise foil and LEI flying for those with spectator tickets, so long as you can take responsibility for your students. Anyone planning to enter the water MUST have a riders ticket. Currently the prize list includes around £3000 of stash from BeachBreakLive, Kitemare, TeamPlayers, Bracklesham Boardriders, Blast Kiteboarding and Maverick Slacklines, and we've a few more in the pipeline - so whether you're too legit to quit, or just too stubborn, make sure you're there. AND OF COURSE. There's a Black Tie SKA Party on Saturday night. Really. I mean it. Wear a black tie. Ideally a bow tie. Not a "C" tie. Very punny Ben. SERIOUSLY! It's black tie. Prices Riders: £30 Spectators: £20 Tickets Include: RIDERS - One day's riding
- One day's rescue cover
- Competition entry
- Rider Jersey
- Prizes - if you earn them.
BOTH - Dinner
- Black Tie Party
- Accommodation (Including cooking facilities and bedding) Friday and Saturday nights.
For more info, head to http://www.studentkitesurfing.co.uk/?page_id=1820, find us on Facebook, or send us an email. Your Club Presidents should be able to hook you up with tickets. If they can't, you can buy them online using the link above (but they are a couple of quid more expensive). Lovely. See you soon! Ben |
