Beach Break Live : The End of Year Jam In association with Flexifoil, Expix and BeachBreakLive
Here it is folks. We've got a sweet forecast (kind of) and it's just 2 days away. Woooopppaaaa. Here are all the things you need to know for when you arrive, courtesy of Benoit at Beach Break. Dates and Forecast The forecast has been fluctuating like crazy the past couple of days and its currently looking pretty extreme on Saturday. So we’re going to monitor the forecast until tomorrow eve when we will make a decision as to the day of the competition. KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR AN EMAIL CONFIRMING DATES All kitesurfing competitions and tuition will be happening on Watergate Bay (just down the road from the campsite) and there will be 2 days of activity. We have FREE kitesurfing tuition sessions on both days and a competition day on whichever day is best conditions. You can also freeride during the weekend but please be aware of the usual dangers and conditions. For most of you this will be a new spot, so take care when heading out. Competitors We’ll send out another message tomorrow eve letting everyone know which day(s) will be competition days once we have a more accurate forecast. We’ll also remind you which class you are in. Each class will run for around about an hour, so you will be required to be at the rider briefing point for the start of your class (not heat). Finals will be run after the classes have been run. On the competition day competitors will need to be at the beach 1 hour before start time and setting up, there’s not much time to get through all the comps before high tide so we need all competitors to be on the ball! Everyone else come down and watch/freeride! We've got all your numbers so do your best to keep your phones charged and we will text reminders and updates as they happen. Transport Watergate is a 4 min drive from the BBL campsite and you can take your car in and out of the campsite car park 24 hrs. So pile into cars and head down to the beach, we have a shuttlebus running from the campsite to the town where all the music is all day so when riding is done at Watergate, drive back to the campsite, ditch your car and jump on the bus to the music! Kit If you have your own kit, we have a storage room at the campsite where you can leave kit but you will only be able to access it for a period in the morning and in the afternoon. Let us know if you want to use this. Email Benoit@beachbreaklive.co.uk If you’re in a caravan I would just store it in there, or if you have a car/van in the car park you can stick it in there. We have demo kit from Flexifoil too so come and ask Ollie from Flexi if they have any kit you can try out! PLEASE LOOK AFTER ANY KIT AS IF IT IS YOUR OWN! Don’t leave it unattended or smash it up! We have marquees and tents on the beach so there’s plenty of chill out space in between rides. Prizes! We have some awesome prizes up for grabs this weekend including some Longboards from the team at Red Pivot Skateboards and a whole host of Flexifoil goodies!
